Bali Cooking Experience — The Complete Balinese Cooking Class Day

A Bali cooking experience is more than a cooking class — it is a full day of cultural immersion. Visit a local market, walk through rice paddies, cook with a local family, and share a feast of authentic dishes in a village kitchen.

The full day — step by step

Your Bali cooking experience starts with hotel pickup from the Ubud area. You will be taken to the local morning market, where a guide explains the ingredients and shows you how locals shop. Then you walk through the green rice paddies to our village kitchen. Once there, you wash your hands, make a Balinese flower offering, and get started cooking.

Over roughly four hours you will grind the spice paste, prepare 10+ dishes, and sit down to eat everything you made. The experience ends with a recipe booklet, a certificate of completion, and photos to take home.

What makes our experience different

Many cooking classes in Bali are held in commercial kitchens and focus only on cooking. Our experience includes every element of a Balinese food culture: the market, the rice fields, the offering, the cooking, and the shared meal. It is designed to feel like a day in the life of a Balinese family, not a tourist activity.

We also keep group sizes small — a maximum of eight guests — so everyone gets hands-on attention from the chef.

Who is this experience for?

Everyone. Whether you are a complete beginner, a foodie with years of experience, a couple on honeymoon, a family with kids, or a solo traveller — our cooking experience welcomes all. Vegetarian and vegan menus are available on request.
