Cooking together is one of the best ways to bond as a family on holiday — and a Balinese cooking class makes it an adventure. Our kitchen is set up with safe, low-height stations for younger cooks, and every child gets their own apron, mortar and pestle, and chopping board. There are no open flames within reach of small hands, and our chefs are experienced in guiding children through every step.
Parents tell us this is the highlight of their Bali trip. Kids are proud of what they made, everyone eats together, and the whole family leaves with recipes and memories that last long after the holiday ends. We have hosted hundreds of families — from toddlers to teenagers — and the class is designed to keep every age group engaged.
Children are not spectators — they cook. Younger kids (ages 4–7) help grind spices in a mortar, shape rice into tumpeng cones, roll pandan pancakes, and make Balinese flower offerings. Older kids (8+) do everything the adults do: chop, stir-fry, grill satay, and prepare the full menu of 10+ dishes.
The morning market tour is a sensory adventure for children. They see exotic fruits, smell fresh spices, touch banana leaves, and learn where their food comes from. The rice-field walk that follows is short, flat, and safe for all ages — a perfect photo opportunity for the family.
Children aged 4 and above are welcome in every class. Kids under 4 can attend for free but will not have their own cooking station. For families who prefer a private experience, we offer exclusive sessions where the kitchen is reserved for your family alone — ideal for birthday celebrations, multi-generational trips, or families with very young children who need extra flexibility.
Child pricing is available for kids aged 4–12. Contact us on WhatsApp for the latest family rates and to discuss any dietary requirements or allergies.

Absolutely. Private family sessions are one of our most popular options. The kitchen, chef, and market guide are exclusively for your family — so you can go at your own pace and customise the experience for your children.
The regular menu works well for children — dishes like satay, fried rice, and pandan pancakes are family favourites. We can also adjust spice levels for younger palates. Just let us know when you book.
